Yesterday was a long day. I woke up at 6 to drive up North for my babysitting and then sent from there to Subway. And then there was the big dilemma: the mom for my babysitting decided she only needed me two days, instead of four. So then, my first thought was to not quit Subway; and then, I found out I was working with Tia since one of the 19-year-olds played their usual "call in sick" card, so I thought "I need to quit this job!" What I finally decided to do was to work all three jobs and just make sure I have the weekends off to relax and recover. By the time I finally did head home, I was exhausted, yet knew I could not go to bed until I watched the season premiere of The Big Bang Theory.
The Big Bang Theory It took some work, but I convinced my mom and brother to watch the season premiere of The Big Bang Theory, both episodes, with me. The first one was pretty funny, but the second one had us rolling, especially the scene where Raj and Howard are trying to decide of Howard's boobs had gotten bigger. Bernie in the background was a riot! In fact, I can barely remember the first; all my thoughts are of the second. I think this show is getting better, not worse.
I was going to watch Grey's Anatomy today, but got distracted by an add for Sherlock on Hulu. I bought the first season last year, but didn't enjoy the last episode; I hate that format. But it was all free of Hulu (or included in the fee I already pay, at least), and the first two cases referenced are two of my favorite: A Scandal in Bohemia and The Hound of the Baskervilles, so I stuck on the first episode of season 2. And then the second...
Sherlock I don't like what they did with the first story at all. I understand why they added the love aspect, but the rest of it. I wasn't too thrilled with the whole dominatrix thing, but I could have lived with that if they hadn't dragged the story into some terrorist/national security after her initial escape. And then she looses in the end. The whole point of Irene Adler was that she was one of only a handful of individuals who actually managed to out-think Sherlock Holmes. Baskervilles was much better, a pretty good modern retelling of the original story.
Grey's Anatomy I finally did get back to Grey's Anatomy. To be perfectly honest, I really don't have much to say about this soap opera. I like it. Obviously. But it's a soap opera. And as interesting as I find it at the time, I never really have much to say about it afterwards. I do have to say, Alex is my favorite character. I really hope his relationship works out this time. I also hate the characters Arizona and Callie and so am happy they're (hopefully) over and hope both of them decide to move out of the hospital to get over it. I doubt it'll happen, but one of them might decide to move on.
