"Be... Our... Guest! Be our guest"

I need to go on a hike.  I haven't been on one in months.  Hopefully, now that my weekends should open up, I can get Amy out with me one day...

Today, I got to hang with the twins and then came home to an empty house.  I put some junk food in the oven and the curled up on the couch, a cat on each side, a dog at my feet, computer on my lap, and sat back to watch the season 3 premiere of Once Upon a Time... (fair warning, I have quite a lot to say about it)

Once Upon a Time Okay, so I love Hook.  I really do.  The last time I liked a guy on this show this much, the evil queen squashed his heart right when he was making out with Emma.  Back to this season.  It was a pretty interesting episode, despite the fact that it focused on the White family.  I usually prefer the episodes that focus on a fairy tale or back story that isn't connected (or has a tenuous link) to the story of Snow White, but this wasn't the worst of the White episodes.  And since I have quite a bit to say about this premiere, I'm going to have to break it down into to parts.
First off, Neverland.  Henry has arrive there in the company of the two villians from the second half of season 2; the adults die, he runs around the island hiding from the lost boys and is finally surrounded because stupid him took everything a stranger said at face value.  Hook, the Queen, Rumple, Snow White, Charming and Emma arrive on Hooks ship; Rumple goes to Neverland and the others and stuck on a boat being attacked by mermaids, finally land, and then take off into the heart of the island to look for Henry.  Neverland has potential, despite this rather poor set-up but if it is to be a good arch, it'll be Pan and the Lost Boys that make it so, not the Whites. (Okay, I also like the wild-eyed look of Emma when she told everyone "I'm a mother!" but that's about as interesting as the Whites get) Aside from some pretty awesome mermaids, Neverland hasn't delivered yet.  The most interesting thing about Neverland while I was watching was wondering about the mysterious Pan:  was he a boy or something else?  The "big reveal" to Henry at the end kind of killed that in a rather anti-climatic way.  The set-up made it a bit too obvious so by the time he actually calls himself Pan, there was no anticipation or shock.  They could have dragged that mystery on into the next episode and made it a bit more interesting.
Much more interesting was the Enchanted Forest, despite the presence of Aurora (who I also dislike; why do I continue to watch a show when I dislike half the "good guys"?).  Though at first I was disappointed when Neil appeared so soon, once I was there, the Enchanted Forest was the best part of the episode.  Before I got there, though, I had to figure out the answer to a question: "Who the heck is that guy running around with sleeping beauty and Mulan?" (FYI, apparently, it's Philip whose soul was stolen the beginning of season 2; did I miss something? Thanks, Google, for helping me out on that one.) I was pretty excited to see Robin Hood (except for the lame haircut) and hope he hangs out for a few episodes.  I've also discovered I kind of like Mulan when she's not busy mooning over Philip. Even Neil was okay (for Neil, at least).
Another thing I noticed, the commercial for Wonderland makes it look amazing and it premieres on my birthday, so I think I'll be able to watch it live :)

A look at the next few days:
Tonight - Sleepy Hollow; Castle
Tomorrow - 2 pre-ordered books, Agents of SHIELD, New Girl
Thursday - The Big Bang, Grey's Anatomy
