I have to get this out here since I really can't get it out anywhere else. So, my two best friends, who happen to be sisters, are having such a huge fight, they refuse to be in the same room together, even for my birthday party. It's like seriously? You guys can't deal with it for 2 hours? It's not like I was planning on having a lot of people over; basically it was a family-only party and they are my Hawaii family. It's like being stuck in the middle of a family feud. About the only thing I will say about this is that neither one is trying to drag me into it; they're respecting me like Switzerland.
On another note, starting tomorrow, I'll be working 4 of the next 5 nights and since I just got my body on a schedule that involves a 6am wake-up, this'll be interesting (read: hard). So, after tonight's attempt to stay up as late as possible (in an effort to exhaust myself into taking a nap tomorrow afternoon), I doubt I'll be watching much TV until the middle of next week.
New Girl This episode was too serious. It was inevitable I guess with Schmidt cheating. They tried to have a few lighter moments and lines, but those mostly didn't work and on the rare occassion they did, weren't enough to lighten the mood. About the only thing that worked was the set up for next week; that episode looks good. I am glad they decided that Winston gets to keep the cat. I love cats...
Sleepy Hollow Yeah. I do have to say it was one of the more interesting episodes. It had very little to do with the overarching Armageddon plot but instead was a monster-of-the-week kind of episode, with a dream demon going around and killing everyone who betrayed Abby's sister, Jenny. I like monster-of-the-week. I think it really helps establish a certain type of series (Smallville), but to put it in a series this small... It's a filler and for something that's only a few episodes long, it's a questionable tactic. Yes, it did establish the character of Jenny and give a background story for her, but all of that could have easily been woven into the main story.
Castle It's over. The episode is over and Kate is beginning to realize that DC is not where she wants to be. None of it's a surprise and now that the season is started, hopefully it'll get better.
Agents of SHIELD Last week was the "assembling of the team" and this week "formation of the team." Though they sound like the same thing, they're not. "Assembling" is just getting people together but "formation" is the people coming together to actually forming a team, learning their roles. I really liked the Agent Fury cameo at the end; it was pretty well done and gave the feeling that this show is part of the Avenger's universe and not just the Coulson spin-off. Had they waited too long, it would have felt like they were forcing the cameo in order to remind people that this is part of the Marvel universe. Now, they need to keep up things like that; name dropping is all well and good, but there's more to weaving it in than simply mentioning thing that happened in the movies. My vote for the next cameo: Stan Lee ;)
